This project seeks to turn an ordinary 700sqft, 2 bedroom flat typical in Hong Kong into a home that reflects the ideals of the owner.
A top and bottom band of ribbons flows through the apartment, integrating the WORK HARD/PLAY HARD elements, including reading corner, seating for guests, slots for greenery, TV holder and work table, into one continuous band. LED strip lighting is incorporated along these bands to accentuate the unified piece.
With the aim of maximising floor space in mind, joinery are built in save space as much as possible, including a raised platform for storage in bedroom, cabinets along the top and bottom bands and the custom-designed dining table fitted with concealed rollers. When slotted into the kitchen cabinet, it becomes wide enough only as a breakfast nook, while slid open it becomes a movable dining table for 6 persons, 3 on each side.
